On the job training
On-the-job training (OJT) is an important part of HCH’s business strategy. It helps employees at HCH develop specific skills that enable them to succeed in their current job and develop for the future. HCH provides on-the-job training for personnel in any new or modified job affecting product quality. HCH employees whose work can affect quality are informed about the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives as well as the consequences to the customer of nonconformity to quality requirements.
HCH on-the-job training includes training schedules as following:
It is the responsibility of supervisors and managers to utilize available resources to train, qualify, and develop their employees. We believe that on-the-job training (OJT) is one of the best training methods because it is planned, organized, and conducted at the employee's worksite. OJT will generally be the primary method used for broadening employee skills and increasing productivity. It is particularly appropriate for developing proficiency skills unique to an employee's job - especially jobs that are relatively easy to learn and require locally-owned equipment and facilities.
The advantages of using OJT
Training can be delivered on a one-to-one basis and at the optimum time: for example immediately before a job is to be performed “for real” in the workplace.
Being specified, planned and structured activity, the trainee will have opportunities to practice immediately and have immediate feedback.
Training is delivered by colleagues and can go someway to integrate the trainee into the team. An individual’s skills or knowledge will be improved fast.
